Nursing Portfolio
My name is Kameryn, and I currently serve in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. I have been in the military for ten years and have been a nurse for two years. In May of 2023, I graduated with my ADN from ECPI University. However, due to operational commitments in the Navy, I could not use my license as I wanted. I volunteer at various events, including blood drives and vaccine clinics, in my free time whenever possible. Luckily, last year, I was accepted into the Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program to pursue my nursing career within the Navy as an Officer. This will be my last semester, where I am transitioning from working full-time to being able to focus on only being a nurse. I am excited to start my new journey, expand my knowledge, and become the best nurse possible.
As a child, I always wanted a career that helped others at critical times. I went back and forth between being a police officer, a nurse, and a paramedic. It wasn’t until I was in high school, when they allowed students to get volunteer hours at hospitals, that I knew I wanted to be a nurse. Besides being in the military and a volunteer nurse, I raise Cane Corsos and care for my terminally ill Uncle. Fun fact: I have delivered all of the puppies I've raised. When I have free time, I mentor young sailors to help them make the best career decisions that coincide with their wants and needs. Also, in my free time, I try to play my saxophone and soccer when my friends are available. I don’t have much free time, but when I do, I like to care for and help others.
